Campaigns are Becoming Playbooks

Updated 2 months ago by Sara Pion

By now, you may have noticed that Drift  is moving our interface to focus on Playbooks, which are basically pre-packaged campaigns, that make it easier for you to use!

Now, everything that you could do with Campaigns, you can now do as a Playbook! In addition, you'll get better reporting, a simpler interface, and fewer steps to get automated messages sending to your leads and customers.

Find out what Playbooks you have access to with your plan here!

So what does this mean for you?

Since we're moving everything in Drift over to Playbooks, we've made it so that you can no longer create new campaigns.

What you can do instead is make Playbooks that give you the same kind of targeting power that you're used to.

If you previously had campaigns running, you can (for now) still access all of your old ones and they work as expected. More on that at the bottom of this document.

What that means is when you want to create a campaign, the process is a little different than what is was before, but not by much!

Previously, you had to...

  1. Go to your Campaign page
  2. Create the campaign you wanted to send
  3. Then go through 3 pages of instructions

What do you have to do now?

  1. Go to your Playbooks Marketplace and choose what kind of Playbook you'd like to create
  2. Create your Playbook, target, and publish  all in one view!

What changes for you if you use Campaigns today?

Right now, if you currently have campaigns running, absolutely nothing changes...all of your campaigns will work as they always have.

In the next few weeks, we're going to make it easy for you to move all your campaigns over to Playbooks, without having to create them all over again

We will make sure to communicate this movement to you every step of the way!

When that happens, it means that your campaigns will be found under "Playbooks" in your lefthand sidebar, rather than using the  "Campaigns" button.

How we're rolling this out

We're going to make sure that this is rolled out with as much notice as possible. You will receive messages from us in your app, as well as in your email inbox just to make sure you know when your account has been switched over!

If you have any questions at all, you know where to find us. Send us a note, and we're happy to explain anything else!
