Where to Begin

We built Drift to give you the easiest way to communicate with your visitors and users.

Getting free live chat on your website takes seconds. You can create a free account (no credit card required) by going here.

The setup flow will walk you through all the ways to integrate Drift into your website or product. If you are not technical, you can send the installation email to a colleague, or you can install Drift on your site yourself (This is the page you should be on after setting up the basic chat widget):

If you choose to send the installation email to a colleague, you will see this pop-up and all you have to do is enter their email to send the instructions!
If you choose to do the installation yourself, you will be brought to this page
In order to continue past this page, in addition to any integration methods you use in columns two and three, you must install the Drift script via one of the methods in order to enable Drift on your website.
Once you have installed Drift, you will be brought to a page to verify that Drift was actually placed into the code of your site. Once you click Verify, you should be directed to your own website and see something like this:
The last step to the onboarding flow is where you can connect Slack to your Drift account! You don't have to connect your Slack account if you dont want to, but if you'd like to know more about the slack integration, you can find out more here.

At any time, you can revisit your integration options in the future by going to drift.com/integrations.
