One use of Drift Teams is to further refine your widget targeting so that you're only showing it to the right people at the right time.
This is only a feature on Company and Enterprise plans at the moment. On another plan? Talk to us!
For example, if you'd like to display the widget to people in Europe if the European team is scheduled to be online, and to some East coast American states if the US East team is online
If you're looking to set up online/offline playbooks per teams and use team hours with playbook targeting, see the help article here https://help.drift.com/article/team-playbook-targeting/

Step 2: Set up your widget targeting
Remember, widget targeting conditions only affect the widget icon. See the playbook targeting article if you'd like to apply team hours to your playbooks https://help.drift.com/article/team-playbook-targeting/
Display conditions using Drift Teams fit in easily with your existing widget targeting. First, navigate to your settings by clicking Settings > Chat Widget > Hours and Targeting. Scroll all the way to the bottom of this window to the heading Display When and click edit.
Once you're in the editor screen, create your condition sets to craft your targeting rules.
Here's an example of how to display the widget to people in Europe if the European team is scheduled to be online, and to some East coast American states if the US East team is online.
In addition to geographic options and team availability options, there are many other display conditions you can use based on URL, site behavior. etc.
Check those out here.
